NCS International joins forces with BSI
Auditor of the GECA Scheme, NSC International (NCSI), has been acquired by BSI from the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA). BSI is the world's first National Standards Body, founding member of ISO and fourth largest global certification body.
The company believes that by joining the two organizations its increased scale will enable it to offer clients a greater range of integrated services. For those clients with international needs,it will provide access to a global network across 150 countries world-wide.
This will not disrupt those GECA licensees that are currently being audited or seek to get audited in future.
GECA is committed to running a transparent and independently audited scheme. Auditors, such as BSI (incorporating NCSI) will continue to be required to be accredited by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ).
Sam Guindi, BSI-NCSI Division Manager Construction & Manufacturing, said: “The acquisition will present opportunities to clients on both a domestic and an international level including a global reach, improved processes and access to leading edge technology while allowing us to offer a greater range of services.“
The new organisation has a network of 2800 employees and 10,000 technical experts in 65 offices across 27 countries. It is expected that the global reach of the company should in time assist with those companies seeking to have products certified in locations other than Australia
