Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) would like to thank former CEO Rupert Posner for his invaluable contributions to the organisation.

During his time as CEO of GECA, Rupert transformed the organisation, actively raising its profile and positioning it as one of the most influential and transparent ecolabelling organisations in Australia. He oversaw major updates to the GECA Scheme Rules, which resulted in a more streamlined, efficient basis for running the scheme and greater international recognition, and took further steps to bolster GECA’s credibility and reputation in the green building industry and expanding global linkages for the program.

"Rupert made a fantastic contribution in his two years in the role," said GECA Board Chair Gordon Renouf. "GECA is now stronger than ever. It has greater capacity to demonstrate the value of certification to our licensees, their customers and other stakeholders. It has more streamlined processes for the development and revision of standards and for the assessment of products against those standards."

"Under Rupert's leadership, GECA has assembled a skilled hardworking and passionate team to continue the organisation's important role in promoting sustainable consumption and production. In addition, Rupert's foresight sees GECA now well down the track to becoming the first and only Australian organisation with GENICES certification in ecolabelling. "

Rupert joined GECA in 2012 having previously worked for organisations including Greenpeace, the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment, and as an advisor on environment and sustainability. Prior to joining GECA, he served as a Director at the Climate Group, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting an economically smarter low-carbon future for all. He established The Climate Group's office in Australia and then went on to run its flagship program Climate Week NYC.

Having successfully achieved his work at GECA and the completion of a two year contract, Rupert has chosen to take up a position pursuing new challenges in an unrelated industry.
