GECA is proud to announce that it is a supporting partner of this year’s much anticipated Home Design Magazine Australian Living Green Interior Awards. The awards highlight those who choose to implement green interior products into their homes, offices, shops, educational facilities, hotels, restaurants and bars and are about celebrating designers' and individuals' commitment to sustainability. The awards are now open for entries.

“GECA is pleased to partner with Australian Living for The Green Interior Awards as the awards are an effective way of showcasing and celebrating these products to the broader community and a wonderful way of gaining recognition for those organisations that are pursuing sustainable goals already,” says Rupert Posner, CEO of GECA.

“Recent studies show that sustainability remains at the forefront of business, consumer, building and design activities despite current economic and political conditions. GECA continues to experience growing demand for products certified under its national ecolabel program with more than $650 million worth of certified products purchased last year. With support and recognition from awards and ecolabels like GECA the importance of sustainability is set to increase.”

Universal Magazines’ Home Design magazine will be partnering with the awards therefore promoting greater awareness. Universal Magazines is Australia’s largest publisher of home media and has been committed to delivering high-quality content to its audiences for more than 26 years.

“We welcome the opportunity to provide a mass market platform to a worthy cause,” said Publisher Janice Williams. “Sustainability involves meeting challenges creatively, so we welcome the leadership role that designers have taken and look forward to promoting their work.”

The categories are residential, office, hospitality, retail and education. Judges for the awards include Shaynna Blaze (co-presenter of the Lifestyle Channel’s Selling Houses Australia and judge on Channel 9’s The Block), Kate St James, FDIA (interior designer and Editor-in-Chief of Home Design magazine) and Daphna Tal (Sustainable Interiors Consultant at Australian Living).
